Toxic chemicals are ubiquitous in US consumer products, impacting our health and the environment. The average person is exposed to more than 100+ chemicals daily. Chemical exposure has been linked to rising rates of cancer, asthma, autism, reproductive problems, and other health issues, as well as impacting our environment.

Less than 1% of the 40,000 chemicals used have been tested for human and environmental safety. In cosmetics, the EU has banned or restricted more than 1,300 chemicals while the US has restricted only 11.

Shopping for safer, healthier products is hard…. very hard ☹.
So, when it comes to shopping safely, most of us don’t even know where to start and don’t have the knowledge to understand the impact of thousands of chemicals used as ingredients in our everyday consumer products.

That is why Tera developed the Shopping Coach Chrome extension: to help you identify potentially dangerous ingredients in products and find better alternatives to replace them.

How does it work?
Whenever you shop online, our Chrome extension alerts you to potentially harmful ingredients in products and finds alternatives that may be healthier for you, your family, and our planet.

That’s right. We have done all the work for you. We have compiled more than 50,000 products, gathered data about the product, and analyzed the ingredients.

Each product is scored in how it impacts Your Health and the Health of Our Planet. You can view the scores, sub-scores, and even the product ingredients (if you are into that sort of thing).
